  • Description: The Medical Baseline Program is an assistance program for residential customers who depend on power for certain medical needs. PG&E provides resources to customers who have qualifying medical conditions. Services include:
    • An additional allotment of energy at the lowest price on your current rate or 12% discount.
    • Extra notifications by call, text, and email before a PSPS. If you do not respond to these alerts, PG&E will make more attempts to notify you hourly. Or, PG&E will contact you in person if needed.

    Must be a PG&E customer who:
    Has a qualifying medical condition or requires the use of a qualifying medical device to treat ongoing medical conditions.

    Some examples of qualifying medical conditions include:
    -Paraplegic, hemiplegic or quadriplegic condition
    -Multiple sclerosis with additional heating and/or cooling needs
    -Scleroderma with additional heating needs
    -Life-threatening illness or compromised immune system, and additional heating and/or cooling are needed to sustain life or prevent medical deterioration
    -Asthma and/or sleep apnea


    Some examples of qualifying medical devices include:
    -Motorized wheelchair/scooter
    -IPPB or CPAP machines
    -Respirator (all types)
    -Hemodialysis machine
    -Iron lung
